Hi Ladies,
How's your week going? I'm having a good one! I'm back on the wagon eating-wise! It took a stern talk from my doctor, but I think I got my motivation back. (It's only been one day, so I can't declare victory yet, but I'd love any happy vibes you could send my way.) I'm also happy to announce that I've got a new blog design coming out in the next few days! You should find it faster, more mobile responsive and free of the newspaper subscription pop-up. (Thanks for bearing with me while I tried that out. It's confirmed: pop-ups are annoying!)
Also, I've got this new beautiful necklace from the Happiness Boutique! When they asked me to review one of their products, I immediately thought "there's so much jewelry to choose from...how am I going to make a decision?" Then my eyes fell upon this beauty and the decision was made! A week later it was sitting in my lap and I was trying to decide what to wear with it. I settled on a turquoise shirt, because I wanted to bring out all the blue/ green colors, plus I wanted it to pop. Also, turquoise is my favorite color. :)
Tips for Styling this Outfit for Work:
- This is a really inexpensive outfit that's great for Casual Friday. The only reason that I recommend it for Casual Friday instead a regular day is because I don't recommend wearing statement necklaces on regular work days. To me, instead of wearing jeans, I interpreted Casual Friday to mean "dressing up a little more fun". If you already work in a fun environment, like fashion, graphic design, etc. then I would rock this outfit as it is. However, if you are in IT or another non-artsy field, I would stick to minimalist jewelry on most days.
- This skirt is super comfortable, but really fitted. (It's made out of a stretch jersey.) If you aren't very curvy in the back, then you can get away with wearing a cropped cardi like I did. However, if you are curvy in the back (like me), I would wear a slim fitting cardigan that just covers your behind (with no pockets). That would allow you to keep the comfort of the skirt, yet still allow you to be modest for work.
- Don't take pictures of yourself in this skirt with an inexpensive camera. LOL :) You WILL give yourself a migraine looking at the crazy swirling patterns from the camera jumping around to all the dots. Ok, this isn't a styling tip, but I got so many pictures that made me wonder if I was hallucinating or coming off a bad trip that I had to share it. :)

DeleteAwesome outfit. As always.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting back on the healthy eating bandwagon! I go on an off it too and when I am back on I feel sooo much better and lighter and happier and then want to kick myself for eating so poorly and feeling so badly. Why do we do that to ourselves? After about three days of really watching my sugar intake I feel like a different person. My brain is clearer too! And then I don't crave the bad stuff. I swear I am addicted to sugar it's so much like a drug.
Yay for veggies!

Sigh...I wish I could say that I felt better off of sugar than on, but I don't. :( Maybe I haven't gone off of it long enough?
DeleteThe skirt and total outfit is fabulous! Same here, back on the diet bandwagon .. lol. So easy to fall off with one trip to a yogurt shop with the best toppings.
