Out of Office

Hi Ladies,
Well, I tried to keep up with my posts during the move and start of the new job, but I finally had to admit that I'm beat! I'm going to have to put my blog on hold for a few weeks until I can get settled and finally start taking some pictures. My next post will be the first week of September. Take care! I'll miss chatting with you. :(

Surf's Up Vox Box Review

Hi Ladies,
I received a Vox Box from Influenster with products to review. I thought I'd share my favorite ones. :)

First Aid Shot Therapy

I really liked this single serving of liquid pain reliever. I suffer from migraines and my doctor always tells me to take Children's Motrin, because it's in liquid form and will be absorbed quicker. Unfortunately, it's so nasty and I have to drink so much of it that I'd rather just wait for the pills to work. (DO NOT try taking the Target brand version...it's even worse!) Anyway, I found First Shot to have a pleasant taste...kinda like what I remember Children's Cherry Flavored Tylenol to taste like. Plus, it's adult strength, so I don't have to drink a cup of it!

My only complaint is that in includes a pain reliever + caffeine. I know that caffeine can sometimes help migraines, but it can also trigger them. Plus, it's dehydrating. I currently have a migraine routine that works for me, but I would consider buying this if I'm out and need quick relief. It's a little pricey for regular use. I saw it in Walgreens for about $2 a bottle.

Sinflul Colors Nail Polish in Why Not

This new polish company has been getting a lot of press lately. As you can see from my pic below, Consumer Reports says it's better than a $27 bottle of Chanel polish, but is only $2!! While I did love the color, it chipped after 2 days, even though I used it with my L'Oreal Gel Laque. Maybe it was just this color, so for $2...I'd give it another try! :)

CoverGirl Bombshell Volume Mascara

This is a 2-step "mascara system" that includes a primer. I normally don't like having to do this extra step and have yet to see any primer that made a difference. Unfortunately, this mascara won't be changing my opinion. I felt that it worked as well as the other CoverGirl Lashblast mascaras, which I really love and added a lot of volume. However, it didn't work better than the ones without primer, plus it made my lashes feel dry. It also has to be removed with an oil based remover. :(

Have you tried any of these products?

Cute Clothes for Walking

Hi Ladies,
Two weeks in my new city has made it abundantly clear that I need some good shoes for walking! I live within a mile of great shopping and eating, but terrible parking. Also, many places are about a half a mile away, which makes me feel really guilty to drive to, and my flip flops aren't cutting it. Firstly, it's kinda cold here and secondly my heels are killing me! So, I've decided to see if I can rock the cute, bright running-shoes-with-chic-clothes-look that I've been seeing for a while. :)

Here are my inspiration photos: (I've pinned a lot more here.)

Here are some of the cute running shoes that I looked at this weekend. I bought the bottom, right pair.

I also bought a bunch of these Zella Live-in capris at Nordstrom. They are really comfortable and slimming. (I would size down though.)
Any ideas? What is your comfortable, walking outfit?

Take Care!

Petite Fashion News - 2014

Hi Ladies,
I thought I'd share some of the cool things I've seen recently that should make being a petite easier...let me know if you've found anything I missed! :)

Land's End, who has recently started running really cool ads (see below), also sells petite plus. (Ok, I don't know that they started doing this recently, but I just found out about it.) :)

J. Crew Factory started offering petites this year. Yay, now we can have the cool J.Crew style on the cheap!

The Limited started offering petites too. Woo Hoo! The Limited has grat sales and style, and I'm glad I won't have to alter their clothes as much now. Check out my review of their petite line here.

A couple new online boutiques, catering specifically to petite,s have been cropping up lately (or maybe I'm just getting on the know, so if you are like me...I'll tell you about a few.) Carolina Alvo reminds me of Theory for Petites and sells up to a size 14.

Well, take care for now. I'm still trying to move 2 bed rooms worth of stuff into a teeny, teeny apartment, so I think it's going to be  a two post week. Take Care and I'll talk to you soon. :)

Black & White Stripe Maxi Dress

Hi Ladies,
I want to share one of the cool things I found out when I became a blogger...that is how many of my friends have creative side projects too! One of my old classmates has a mommy blog and one of my closest friends in high school has her own Etsy shop! It was really cool to find out...I don't remember her being into jewelry, just studying all the time, but there you go. :) Therefore, I want to introduce Quinana from Postively U.

*Alterations Note:
I don't have before and after pictures, but I raised the waist on this dress. I strongly recommend this if you find a misses knit dress that you love. If it doesn't have a zipper, then it's easy for the tailor. Plus, since most dresses are too long on petites, raising the waist will automatically shorten the length by that amount.
