How to Decorate a Boring Bathroom
I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend! I'm probably eating veggie hamburgers with whole wheat bread and drinking water while you read this, so enjoy some BBQ for me! As you know I recently moved, and left a one bedroom apartment for a two bedroom condo. So, I now have two bathrooms and bedrooms to decorate! Yay! Today, I want to share my bathroom redecoration with you. For most of you who've ever lived in an apartment, you know the "boring bathroom syndrome", where the walls are beige and the cabinets are brown. It's a very clean look, but not an exciting one. I've always struggled with how to decorate them, because well...they are bathrooms. It's a very function-oriented space and it's hard for me to think beyond towels and a shower curtain. However, after scouring Pinterest I decided to treat my bathroom like any other room and actually decorate it. I love the results!

My New Living Room
Whew! I finally moved in and finished decorating, so I thought I'd share my rooms with you over the next few weeks. Today is my favorite...the Living Room.
I had forgotten how hard it is to move to a new city and start a new job, so I really need to take those couple weeks off from blogging. It feels like it was so much longer, but I can't wait to start chatting with everyone again! :)

Goodbye Phoenix!
Hi Ladies,
Not sure if any of you've noticed, but I've been really behind on keeping up with my comments lately and I haven't been blog hopping as much as I would like. :( Well....it's because I've got great news!! I've been interviewing for a new job this month and I finally got and accepted the offer! I'm moving to San Francisco!!!!! SCREAM!!! :) Actually, I'm moving to a suburb, but that's close enough. :)
Also, I move this weekend, so OMG...things are crazy! I had just moved into a new apartment in phoenix about 4 months ago and wanted to share some pics, so I figured I'd better do it now before it's too late.
My Bedroom
Bedroom (this is the same dresser that had all my jewelry on...it's just empty because it's staged for Craigslist..lol)
I'm gonna miss my Living Room the most. I have the world's most comfortable sofa...it's perfect for sleeping on, plus I love all the colors! My new place is smaller (much, much smaller), so I think I will go with more pastels. I can't wait to decorate!
Plus, my living room had these huge, gorgeous windows that me (and my cats) love :)
Here's a little DIY project I did...it kind of barely counts as DIY, bc it was so simple, but I wanted to cover this big bare wall. I bought these circle decals from Target for about $20. I think I"ll be doing a decal headboard in my new place and maybe some of the reusable wallpaper.
This is what it looked like afterwards.

Bye Ya'll! I expect this to settle down in the next couple weeks, so I'll talk to you soon :)

A Riot of Color: Spring Cleaning in the K. Household
In honor of spring, I decided to do a little cleaning...not the boring kind, like dusting and mopping, but the fun kind, like organizing my jewelry! I know some bloggers have figured out how to store all of their jewelry in drawers and little boxes, but I've decided to go with the "anti-minimalist" route. I call it "A Riot of Color", which I'm sure I've heard somewhere else, and it falls under the philosophy of "If it's pretty...show it off"!
I bought all of the storage items from Home Goods, Target and Ikea. I hope you have fun decorating and would love to see how you do it!
I also want to send a special shout out to Elba at Live Colorful! She has the best taste in colors and I always find her site inspiring. Check out her post on spring decoration: here!

Holiday Gift Idea Link-Up: Really Cool Christmas Gift Ideas!
Hi Ladies,
Is it just me or do you hate seeing christmas gift lists that are too expensive, too impractical or both? I'm never going to spend $50 on a gold plated ashtray...I'd rather just buy my friend a gift certificate from her favorite store. So, here is a list of things that are truly unique, affordable and cool. (I'd be happy to receive any of them. :)) Also, in case you were wondering..this is NOT a sponsored post.
Stocking Stuffers
My cat looooves the dust bunnies and wooly ping pong bolls...she goes through them like candy. What I love is that they are all natural and organic. My cat literally gnaws on toys until they fall apart, so I reject cat toys with chemicals because I'm afraid of what she's ingesting. They also sell dog toys, although I obviously haven't tried them. :)
Girl Blox Toys and Apparel $10-$40
Touted as "Building games for girls to inspire future engineers". As a technology professional, this is dear to my heart. You have no idea how many times I've been told "you don't look like someone who'd go into IT"...I don't even know what to say to that. As a plus, get a girl power kick when you watch the cute video here!
