Hi Ladies,
Like most of you, I enjoy rising early on weekdays, getting dressed for work and then going to stand in my garden. (j/k) I joke about this, because of a point a girlfriend of mine made last year. I was showing her the pictures for this post and when we got to this picture she said: "Why are you standing next to a grill in your work clothes? That doesn't make any sense. You wouldn't go to a barbeque dressed like that, would you, so why are you standing there?"
My mouth fell open and a million thoughts raced through my head. That was one of the first photos I had ever taken of myself, so I wanted to explain to her how tough it is to learn how to use a DSLR camera, when the last time you used a camera was when you still had to develop the film. That having to pick out your clothes, do your hair and makeup and then pray that everything is in it's place takes a ton of time, and that I took about 50 pictures so that I could have the 3 good ones that I was showing her. That the fact that I felt like I looked good and the quality of the photography would not have made my photography teacher scowl meant that it was a good day. I wanted to explain all of this to her, so I closed my mouth and gently did so.
She listened patiently until I was done, nodding her head the whole time and then said, "It just doesn't make any sense that you are standing near a grill!" LOL...Oh well, you can't win them all. Anyway, she comes to my mind ever so often when I'm taking pictures. This was one of those times. I personally love a leafy background. I think that plants go with everything and enhance every skin tone. However, when I look at these pictures I can hear her saying "Why is she standing in a garden in her work clothes?" :-)
