How to Look Modern in Pearls! | The Pearl Source Review

How to Look Modern in Pearls! | Dressy Casual | Curvy Outfit Ideas | Petite Outfit Ideas | Plus Size Fashion | Fall Fashion | OOTD | Professional Casual Chic Fashion and Style Inspiration
Hi Ladies,
I'm back!! First, I want to say that I'm still having some trouble with the domain migration (surprise! surprise!). The menu bar isn't working properly, and we are working hard to fix it, so please bear with me. :)

Now, on to more fun things! Today, I'm pleased today to partner with The Pearl Source on a review of their Freshwater Pearl Necklace. To be honest, I'd never given much thought to owning real pearls, since I don't spend much time dining with the Queen of England. I generally thought of pearls as being stuffy and the only way to wear them was to layer them. Boy was I wrong!

How much do you spend on clothes? | October Clothing Budget

How much do you spend on clothes? | October Clothing Budget | Fall Fashion | Curvy Outfit Ideas | Petite Outfit Ideas | Plus Size Fashion | OOTD | Professional Casual Chic Fashion and Style Inspiration
Hi Ladies,
I'm baaack with this month's update on spending. :) If you remember from last  month, I went waaaay over budget on shopping. After tallying up all my expenses and smacking myself in the forehead, I wound up retunring a pair of $160 brown Mary Janes and about $120 worh of clothes from Old Navy. The Mary Janes were cute, but they can often look funny with leggings, so I probably wouldn't have gotten a ton of use out of them. As for deciding what to take back from Old Navy, I focused on things that I liked, but didn't love or were similar to stuff I already owned. Whew!

This month, I did much better. Since I live in leggings during the winter and it's starting to get cold, I focused on getting some easy weekend/ running errands/ working from home wear, since that's what I do the most of. I bought a few tee shirts, long cardigans and some leggings. All via Old Navy and Target, so the prices was great. On a side note...I'm REALLY impressed with Target's tee-shirts. They have alot of different varieties from heavy weight cotton to the thinner vintage ones. Plus they are all about $8. J. Crew Factory had previously been my favoirite place for tees, becauise I loved thier vintage wash, but I think that Target's Merona brand is a less boxy, looks better and is cheaper.

So, how was your shopping month?

4 Long Sleeve Tees (TARGET) $8 * 4 = $32
1 Open Cardigan (OLD NAVY) $17
1 Cowl Neck Sweater (OLD NAVY) $8
1 Black Sweater (OLD NAVY) $12
3 Leggings (OLD NAVY) $16 * 3 = $48

TOTAL =  $117

Hi Ladies,
How's your week going? I'm having a good one! I'm back on the wagon eating-wise! It took a stern talk from my doctor, but I think I got my motivation back. (It's only been one day, so I can't declare victory yet, but I'd love any happy vibes you could send my way.) I'm also happy to announce that I've got a new blog design coming out in the next few days! You should find it faster, more mobile responsive and free of the newspaper subscription pop-up. (Thanks for bearing with me while I tried that out. It's confirmed: pop-ups are annoying!)

Old Navy Jewelry Shopping Haul

Hi Ladies,
I'm really excited about today's post! First of all, I finally did something that I've been putting off for years: making a you tube video!! I actually recorded one the day I launched my blog (2 years ago), but was immediately horrified by how I sound on tape and vowed never to release it. LOL. Well, 2 years later, I've overcome my fears, learned how to work my computer camera and dusted off my You Tube page. Here we go!

How much do you spend on clothes? | September Clothing Budget

How much do you spend on clothes? | September Clothing Budget | Curvy Outfit Ideas | Petite Outfit Ideas | Plus Size Fashion | Fall Fashion | OOTD | Professional Casual Chic Fashion and Style Inspiration

Hi Ladies,
This was a really, really bad shopping month for me. Eew! Retailers make it so hard to behave in September. First, when the seasons change, all your summer clothes suddenly suck. Second, they put the cutest styles out at the beginning of Fall. It's like going to a carnival and not buying any cotton candy or funnel cakes. It's impossible!

Printed Leggings | Dressy Casual

Printed Leggings | Dressy Casual | Curvy Outfit Ideas | Petite Outfit Ideas | Plus Size Fashion | Fall Fashion | OOTD | Professional Casual Chic Fashion and Style Inspiration
Hi Ladies,
It's fall and you know what that means...legging time!!! My favorite time of the year! I love leggings because they look great with flats, boots and heels (sometimes..lol). They make me look taller, highlight curves and this new printed legging trend means that I don't have to bore people to death with black ones. Horray!

Orange Swing Dress | Dressy Casual

Hi Ladies,
You almost got to see a whole "new me" today! I went to the salon this afternoon with the intention of getting the rest of my relaxed hair cut off. I thought it would only be about 2 inches, but when we looked at it in the salon it was about 4 inches. I wasn't ready to do that. I'm really excited though. My hair is naturally curly, and I haven't worn it that way since I was about 5 years old. However, I want to make sure my hair is long enough to put in a ponytail and cutting it now would've made it too short. Sooo...I've probably got another 4 months before I can go completely natural, but I can't wait!

Nautical Style | Dressy Casual

Nautical Style | Dressy Casual| Curvy Outfit Ideas | Petite Outfit Ideas | Plus Size Fashion | Summer Fashion | OOTD | Professional Casual Chic Fashion and Style Inspiration

Hi Ladies,
Good Morning! I'm finally feeling rested after the personal styling launch, guest posting and all the traveling I was doing. Whew! Also, I'm excited about the fun posts coming up this week AND I'm working on a vlog! :) (Eek!) I'm excited, but nervous. I've always loved public speaking, but the minute you record my voice I start wondering "Who is that? Is that what I really sound like??" To me, I sound like a valley girl. When I first started blogging, I recorded a vlog that I thought was a really cute concept. The video turned out good, I really liked my outfits in it and I thought it was a cool topic. However, when I turned the sound on...all I heard was this high, whiny voice that loved to use the word "like". Needless to say, I have never published it. So, here goes another adventure!

Nautical Outfit - (Business Casual Attire)

Hi Ladies,
I'm really loving this gold belt! When gold chain belts started coming out in stores, I thought they were tacky. I remembered  that I used to wear something like it over Express tunics and leggings in middle school and I wasn't excited to repeat that.

Hi Ladies,
Have you tried swing dresses yet? I love them because they are comfy and drape well over curves. Plus, there are millions of them in stores right now! I can't think of a body type they wouldn't work on. Here are a couple tips when shopping and styling:

Hi Ladies,
I love maxi dresses for summer, don't you?  They are so soft and easy to put on! If they are made out of cotton, then they keep you cool and can hide razor stubble if you forgot to shave. :)

Red Maxi Dress - (Weekend Style)

This maxi dress is another hit from Old Navy! I can't say it enough, but they are really hitting it out of the park this season! This dress goes all the way up to an XL Petite and they have a really cute plus size maxi here. It also comes in black and cobalt.

Capris & Sweater - (Weekend Style)

Curvy, Petite Outfit Ideas | Professional and Casual-Chic Fashion and Style Inspiration | Capris & Sweater
Hi Ladies,
Sometimes a petite women's best friend is separates instead of a dress. Dresses have to fit perfectly at the waist, shoulders, etc. However if you buy two items that fit, you can make a perfect outfit!
